Super Heroes in Roselle!

Harrison School, Roselle, New JerseyWe had the pleasure of hosting our second HERO assembly for the Week of Respect at Harrison School, in Roselle, New Jersey. The students and staff at Harrison School wore their very own super hero capes, shirts, and accessories to welcome us and our program.

Our program was filled with energy and excitement. All students chanted, “Heroes always help!” throughout our program. They were engaged in our role play and video segments. There were lots of cheers, hoots, and laughter heard from students throughout our entire show.

One third grader came to us after the show and stated, “You’re right. You CAN wear an invisible cape and still be a hero! I get it!” We are so grateful to that boy, and all the students whom we visit for understanding and spreading our mission of kindness.

Kindness is Cool at Golda Och Academy

Golda Och AcademyWe spent the afternoon at Golda Och Academy in West Orange, New Jersey, where we presented two of our Hero Assemblies to children in grades K-2 and grades 3-5.

Kindness is everywhere at Golda Och Academy. The school has encouraging messages promoting kindness and good character around every corner. The school is so committed to kindness, that they hired a professional artist to write “kindness reminders” in the bathrooms.

Inclusion was a big topic that we discussed today. Through our Hero Strategies students learned the importance of including others. They also understood the necessity of using their voices to promote kindness and making it “COOL TO BE KIND.”

Kindergarten Heroes filled Sycamore Drive Early Learning Center

Kindergarten Heroes filled Sycamore Drive Early Learning CenterThe sound of almost 300 Kindergarten students chanting, “It’s cool to be kind!” was heartwarming this morning at our visit to Sycamore Drive Early Learning Center in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Each student wore a cape purchased by the school PTO. The school, which is made up of 10 Kindergarten classrooms and several preschool classes, had a Wear The Cape bulletin board prepared for our visit . They sent home our Hero frame as a follow up activity for their students and plan to put the frames around the bulletin board.

Kindergarten Heroes filled Sycamore Drive Early Learning CenterWe were delighted to visit Sycamore Drive students again this year. The students quickly mastered our “STOP AND THINK” Hero Strategy, and often cheered, “Heroes always help!”

Thank you, Kindergarteners, for being BETTER THAN THAT(tm) and for being heroes!
